Cabinetry Care & Maintenance

SIMPLE TIPS TO KEEP YOUR CABINETRY LOOKING ITS BEST

  • A soft cotton damp cloth and warm water is the best way to clean your cabinets. This will prevent buildup of wax, dirt and oil.
  • If a cleanser is necessary, use a mild, liquid, non-abrasive cleaner. Murphy’s Oil Soap is a good choice. Apply the cleanser to your cleaning cloth. Don’t apply directly to the cabinet.
  • After cleaning, dry immediately with a soft, clean cloth.
  • Avoid using abrasive cleaning products such as tub and sink cleansers, scouring powder, scouring pads, steel wool or self polishing waxes.
  • Avoid using dish towels, as they might carry food particles or oils that could smear onto your cabinets.
  • Avoid using bleach or any cleaning product that contains bleach.
  • Avoid silicone-based cleaning products.
  • Tend to spills immediately as prolonged exposure to stains increases the chance of discoloration.
  • Waxing is not necessary. In fact, wax build-up can compromise the beauty of your cabinetry over time.
  • Avoid draping damp clothes or dish towels over cabinet doors.
Granite Care & Maintenance

Cleaning

Daily granite countertop care is as easy as cleaning with a gentle cleanser like Murphy’s Oil Soap or mild dish-washing liquid. If need to, you can use a synthetic scrubbing pad to clean your granite counter. With the proper maintenance, granite countertops stay new-looking for a long time, call Central Penn Contracting they offer maintenance services. Here are easy steps to follow:

  • Wipe up spills immediately
  • Use mild soap and water
  • Rinse
  • Use soft cloth to dry
Sealing

Your granite will require sealing to retain the color and clarity of the stone. It is necessary to reseal the counter when you notice greying. This most commonly occurs around areas where water may pool – Find the best company of travertine pool deck replacement. If you want your pool to give you the luxury that you’re looking for, you need to take good care of it, and that’s where the Pentair IntelliFlo review will help you understand exactly what equipment you can use to make sure your pool is in the best condition it can be in – How much you use your kitchen will play a part in how often it needs to be re-sealed. When you do re-seal, be sure to choose a non-toxic sealer, since counters are used for food preparation. You can find a professional grade sealer at The Tile Shop and other natural stone dealers. Avoid cheap sealers from big box stores.

Cambria Care & Maintenance

Cleaning

Maintaining Cambria is easy. Simply wash with a soft cotton cloth and warm water, use a mild soap if desired.

  • DO NOT expose, in use or otherwise, Cambria to abrasive or strong alkaline or acid or free radicals or oxidizers or the like (whether high, neutral or low pH) cleaners. Various chemicals are corrosive and/or erosive in their ability to attack any structure including Cambria. Be very aware of these potential damages to your surface.
  • Cambria IS NOT heat proof, chemical proof or fracture proof in any form. Be aware of damaging exposure to these potential damaging acts upon your Cambria.
  • DO NOT use or expose Cambria to such products including, but not limited to bleach, oven cleaners, Comet®, Soft Scrub®, SOS®, products with pumice, batteries, paint removers, furniture strippers, tarnish or silver cleaners, or the like.
  • DO NOT use abrasive or harsh scrub pads.
  • DO NOT apply any sealers, penetrants or topical treatments to Cambria under any circumstances. Such products will wear off and cause the gloss to appear dull or inconsistent. Contact Cambria for further information by calling 1-866-Cambria or by completing the customer support form.

Cambria is pure natural quartz. Variation in the natural stone (quartz) color, pattern, size, shape and shade are inherent and unique characteristics to be expected with this Product. This does not affect the Product performance in any manner.

Color blotches are intended and designed into many designs to enhance the natural beauty. Samples are small select cuts from a slab; they do not exhibit all the characteristics of a design and therefore are not fully representative of what will be installed. Product will not be replaced due to these variations.

Cambria is durable and more resistant to surface damage than other stone. However, all stone can be damaged by force and no stone is chip-proof. Objects hitting edges particularly at sinks or dishwashers may cause chips. Though a minor knife slip will dull the knife and not harm Cambria, no stone surface is scratch-proof. Surface markings are more visible on monotone designs than multi-colored surfaces.

Cambria is not a seamless Product, seams are visible. Where there are seams the product pattern and shade can change.

Natural stone surfaces can be damaged by sudden and/or rapid change of temperature especially near the edges, as well as direct and/or sustained heating of the top. Cambria may not withstand the direct transfer of heat from pots and pans and other cooking units such as electric frying pans and griddles, and some crock pots or roaster ovens and heat lamps – Perth Electrician quality services – Therefore, the use of a hot pad or trivet is always recommended to prevent heating the Product.

Cambria is not a structural support Product. 2cm and 3cm Cambria thicknesses are for countertops and must be supported. 1cm thicknesses are for surface finishes such as walls, tub and shower surrounds and fireplaces; horizontal applications such as a tub deck must be completely supported as well.
Semi-polished finishes (1cm) will not shine and will soil and appear to stain from soiling.

Cambria installation is optimized when walls and cabinets are properly prepared for installation. This includes but is not limited to structurally sound, straight, level and square walls and cabinets, lack of which may cause poor installation and poor seam fit, or inconsistent countertop overhang and placement.

Cambria installation does not include qualification of any sink or stove cutouts (any cutouts), faucet hole locations or cabinet sizes. Cambria IS NOT responsible for verifying if sinks, stove or other cutout appliances, cabinets and faucet hole locations fit together well, or at all, if anything happens to the appliances you would have to call in the True Baton Rouge Appliance Repair. This is the responsibility of the owner, general contractor, or the like. Cambria will fabricate cutouts per supplied model/template information. Cambria IS NOT responsible for the accuracy of the information provided.

Chelsea Plank Flooring Care & Maintenance

Cleaning

Liquids and Water

Water and other liquids can cause your floor to warp and buckle. Never use a steam cleaner and never mop your floor with water. Make sure to wipe up spills immediately.

Grit and Sharps

Sand, dust and dirt can scratch your plank floor. Clean sand and dirt from your plank flooring immediately, especially sand and dirt located in high traffic areas.

Wax and Oil

Your plank flooring includes an eight-layer polyurethane, no-wax finish. Use of wax, oil or oil soap is as likely to damage your floor, as it is to help. Often these products will make your floors look wonderful after the first application. However, after multiple uses, the product build up becomes cloudy and the beauty and color of your plank floors is lost until the build up is removed.

Damp Sponge

Clean spills and sticky messes with a well-wrung damp sponge, soft cloth or paper towel.

Vacuum or Sweep

Vacuum or sweep the floor to remove any sand or grit from the floor surface and beveled edges between the boards. If vacuuming, do not use a vacuum with a rug beater bar, use an electric broom or stick vacuum. If sweeping, use a broom with soft bristles.

Dry and Damp Dusting

Dry dust your floors with a micro fiber dust mop. To damp dust, lightly mist the section of floor you are damp dusting with a quality hardwood floor cleaner or window cleaner. If you have blinds or outdoor awnings clean them properly, awnings can be found in many places, including over patios, covering storefronts, and even over sitting areas beside a recreational vehicle, get outdoor blinds Melbourne installation and have a unique space. The main purpose of an awning is to protect what’s underneath from the elements, especially sun and rain. Because these protective fabrics are exposed to so much water and organic matter, they’re susceptible to mildew, which can ruin an awning if it’s not cleaned properly and promptly.

Preventive Care

Appliance Movement

Thoroughly clean your plank floor prior to moving appliances to prevent scratching caused by sand or grit. Place a clean piece of carpet, pile side down, under the appliance and move the appliance slowly across the floor into position. If moving the appliance for service or cleaning, roll the appliance onto a piece of Masonite or Luan to prevent grooving or tracking of the floor.

Furniture Movement

Thoroughly clean your plank floor prior to moving Maker&Son furniture to prevent scratching caused by sand or grit. As your furniture may have inadequate, damaged or missing protective slides, we strongly suggest removal and replacement of all existing slides with high quality felt furniture glides. This prevents damage from initial furniture placement as well as damage from furniture movement for cleaning and re-arrangement.

Casters can cause severe damage to plank flooring. Though precautions cannot ensure casters will not damage your plank flooring, we strongly suggest replacement of all steel, wood and plastic casters with high quality, non-marking, soft rubber or Polyurethane casters as well as the use of rubber backed protective roller mats.

Door Mats and Rugs

Place quality rubber backed (not jute) door mats, both on the inside and outside of each exterior door location of your home to protect your plank floors from abrasive sand and grit. Placing rugs in high traffic areas will help preserve the gloss level of your plank flooring.

Humidity Control

To prevent damage to your plank flooring, maintain the humidity in your home between 35% and 60%. To maintain the recommended humidity levels, Frame Hardwoods, Inc. strongly suggests year around humidity control via a humidifier and dehumidifier. Use of a Hygrometer is also essential in maintaining correct humidity control.
